Example 1:

Three Rivers Parks District

Three Rivers Parks District Three Rivers Parks District conducted outreach to communities of color to enhance the utilization of their amenities. To maximize their reach, they opted to create videos in various languages. the other media group collaborated with community translators to create these short videos. Community translators play a crucial role in ensuring that translations are not just literal but also convey the intended meaning effectively. By working closely with community translators, scripts can be transformed into more engaging and conversational content. In addition to their translation duties, our community translators have also contributed as on-air talent and provided valuable assistance in the post-production process of the videos.

COUNTER STORIES

Counter Stories originated as a podcast and later transitioned into a radio show at Minnesota Public Radio. The show’s tagline: “a program for people of color, by people of color…and everybody else,” emphasizes achievements and challenges within our different communities of color. Our discussions are akin to a gathering of diverse friends, engaging in conversations that delve deep into various topics. Through these insightful dialogues, we share our lived experiences and gain valuable perspectives from both our fellow participants and esteemed guests. Being deeply rooted in the community has earned us recognition, and our programs have reached a national audience.
